Bringing Clean Water and Sanitation to 527 Children in Mozambique

Charity PartnerWe’re thrilled to share the latest project your support is making possible. This month, we’ve partnered with United Purpose to provide sustainable water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) systems to schools in the Lichinga District of Mozambique.
Mozambique faces severe challenges in access to clean water and proper sanitation, especially in rural areas. In Lichinga, only 18% of schools have running water, and a mere 6% have adequate sanitation facilities. This lack of basic hygiene infrastructure leaves children at risk of illness, with girls particularly affected due to the absence of menstrual health facilities, causing many to miss school.
With your support, we’ll build inclusive toilet blocks with clean water, handwashing stations, and menstrual hygiene facilities.
This will directly improve the health and well-being of 527 students and 17 teachers and promote hygiene practices that will reach an additional 1,627 students across the district.
