Train 4 water pump mechanics helping 20,000 people a year in Malawi access clean water

Our June 1% will train, mentor and support four local entrepreneurs to establish small, profitable businesses maintaining private and community water sources in Malawi. Our entrepreneurs will pick up business knowledge, technical know-how and marketing skills. They’ll be helped to develop supply chains, making spare parts more accessible and will also be linked to finance and loans.
Once their businesses are up-and-running these four water pump mechanics will be able to get out into their community and the surrounding area, fixing and maintaining existing water pumps giving an estimated 20,000 people access to safe running water every year.
In light of the current context, Pump Aid have introduced virtual training using tablets, 1:1 mentoring at a safe 2m distance, as well as providing tools and safety equipment (PPE).
