This month, you helped us raise £3,284.25 to support Musana’s new Empowerment Centre in Kamuli, Uganda. The funding will provide sewing and knitting machines, enabling women and young mothers to access vocational training, develop practical skills and build independent sources of income.

In Kamuli, many women face chronic underemployment and limited opportunities to earn a reliable income. The new Empowerment Centre will provide training in tailoring, knitting and small business management, equipping participants with the skills to start their own enterprises and generate sustainable incomes for years to come.

What makes this project especially powerful is its long-term impact. Musana’s centres are locally led and built on a sustainable model that reinvests income back into community programmes, creating opportunities long after the initial funding has been spent.

This new centre is expected to support 1,400 women and improve the lives of approximately 6,000 people through its wider impact on families and communities.

Musana is a Ugandan-founded social enterprise transforming communities through sustainable education, healthcare, and economic empowerment. Founded in 2008 in Iganga, Uganda, Musana operates schools, vocational institutes, health centres, and women’s empowerment programs designed to be locally owned and financially self-sustaining.
By reinvesting profits from its social enterprises into scholarships and free or reduced-cost health services, Musana ensures long-term community growth without dependency on foreign aid. Its model empowers individuals, especially women and youth to create change within their own communities, breaking the cycle of poverty through opportunity and dignity.
