Your donation this month is saving 555 children in Malawi and Liberia from potential famine and helping them stay in school. We’ve partnered with Mary’s Meals for the first of 2 months of 2024 funding to reach children affected by the global hunger crisis. Mary’s Meals work within school communities to pull pupils to the classroom with the promise of a daily meal. Armed with a full stomach their chances of breaking the cycle of poverty improves every day.
We are proud to have partnered with this outstanding charity for over a decade. We sponsor 2 schools; Chitakale in Malawi and Dudu Public School in Liberia, both of which had around 200 pupils last year.
We’re on target to reach 555 pupils with a meal every school day - both of the schools we sponsor plus lots of other kids across the Mary’s Meals network. This means a staggering 108,225 lunches are on us!
Mary’s Meals is an international movement that sets up school feeding projects in communities where poverty and hunger prevent children from gaining an education. The charity now feeds over 2.4 million children every school day and it costs just £19.15 to feed a child for a school year. We sponsored our first school with Mary’s Meals in 2011 and have been working with them ever since
