Your donation this month is saving 396 children in Malawi from potential famine and helping them stay in school.
We’re partnering with Mary’s Meals who are working harder than ever to help the 50 million people across the world who are facing a global hunger crisis. Mary’s Meals work within school communities to pull pupils to the classroom with the promise of a daily meal. Armed with a full stomach their chances of breaking the cycle of poverty improves every day.
From us and the pupils at the 2 schools we now sponsor, thank you for donating this month. 14 year old Sheik loves literature, “it teaches me to read with comprehension and to apply those readings to my daily life,” dreams of becoming an engineer, “to help solve some of the electrical deficits in our country,” and because of your investment in him and his classmates that may one day become reality, “the food gives me strength to learn.”
Mary’s Meals is an international movement that sets up school feeding projects in communities where poverty and hunger prevent children from gaining an education. The charity now feeds over 2.4 million children every school day and it costs just £19.15 to feed a child for a school year. We sponsored our first school with Mary’s Meals in 2011 and have been working with them ever since
